House Speaker Conveys King Greetings to Egyptian President

Lower House Speaker, Abdel Karim Dughmi, conveyed greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Dughmi conveyed the King and Crown Prince’s greetings in a meeting that brought together heads of Arab parliaments with the Egyptian President on the sidelines of the fourth conference of the Arab Parliament in Cairo on Sunday, with the presence and wide parliamentary participation.

The meeting dealt with the course of the Arab Parliament’s meetings, and key recommendations of heads of Arab parliament delegations, which will be submitted to the Arab League meeting at the level of Arab leaders that Algeria will host this year.

Notably, Dughmi addressed the 32nd conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) currently ongoing in Cairo, saying that pan-Arab solidarity is the only lever to overcome the crises and challenges facing the Arab world which, he believes, has become an arena for conflicts, crises, and challenges.

He warned that the “Arab system’s” resilience was receding after wars destroyed the infrastructure in some Arab countries and displaced millions of people to different parts of the world, at a time when “the specter of terrorism and extremism is still striking.”
