On Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II received the Commander of United States (US) Central Command (CENTCOM), General Kenneth F. McKenzie, Jr., at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman.
The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Jordan Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, during which discussions covered means of enhancing the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, especially in relation to military and security cooperation.
Discussions also addressed regional and international efforts to fight terrorism, within a holistic approach, and the need to reach solutions to crises in the Middle East, in service of regional and international stability.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, also attended the meeting.

Notably, His Majesty met with an economic and academic US delegation via telepresence, which was on a visit to Jordan last month, as part of efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation and trade exchange, and stimulate investments in vital sectors.
The meeting, which was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty stressed the importance of collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and expertise, especially in vital sectors such as food security, water, entrepreneurship, and advanced agricultural technology, expressing hope that the visit would further boost economic cooperation with the US and strengthen academic exchange and collaboration on research and development between Jordanian and American universities.
