King and Crown Prince Visit King Hussein’s Tomb on 23rd Anniversary of his Passing

On Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, visited the tomb of His Majesty the late King Hussein, on the 23rd anniversary of His Majesty’s passing.

King Abdullah and Crown Prince Al Hussein laid a wreath at the tomb and recited verses from the Holy Quran.

Several Royal family members, and senior officials and officers also visited the tomb on the same day.

About King Hussein

Under his 47-year reign, Jordan witnessed a renaissance in the political, economic and social sectors. His Majesty was both a man of war and a man of peace, possessing great courage and wisdom.

With a focus on ensuring that their gains benefit all regions and all segments of society, His Majesty worked to enhance Jordanians’ standard of living, in line with his motto: “The human being is our most precious asset,” which was the main driver of the country’s development plans.

His Majesty has a collection of literary and political writings: “Uneasy Lies the Head,” “Our War with Israel” and “Mon Métier de Roi”.

His Majesty was born in Amman on November 14, 1935 and passed away on February 7, 1999.
