Princess Ghida Talal Signs Two Agreements with QRCS

On Monday, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC) signed two agreements with the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Secretary-General, Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi.

The agreements aims to strengthen cooperation between the both entities in order to support the KHCF’s efforts, by covering the treatment of cancer patients among Syrian refugees and underprivileged patients at the KHCC.

HRH thanked Qatar and expressed her appreciation for the QRCS for its belief in KHCF and KHCC’s missions, and for its humanitarian stance in supporting cancer patients for whom there is no entity that supports them. HRH expressed gratitude for granting these a real opportunity for treatment and recovery.

Qatar’s Viewpoint

Qatar’s ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, who attended the signing ceremony, said this cooperation between the QRCS and the KHCF reflects a humanitarian duty that lies on everyone.

He underlined Qatar’s ongoing firm position in supporting humanitarian issues around the world, providing various forms of necessary support, and strengthening Jordan’s efforts in these humanitarian works. He stressed that this is especially important since Jordan has always hosted a large number of refugees, which necessitates providing constant support to it.

Ambassador Al Hammadi said this agreement comes within the framework of consolidating mutual friendship, and is based on QRCS and KHCF’s leading role to meet needs of vulnerable groups in society.

He added that the two sides see eye-to-eye on supporting the treatment of cancer patients through QRCS’s projects, offices and missions. The aim is to transfer diagnosed cancer patients to the KHCC in Jordan, boost joint efforts in terms of mobilizing resources and provide support in Qatar to contribute to the treatment of these patients.
