Among Team USA’s models were figure skater Jason Brown, snowboarder Jamie Anderson, hockey player Hilary Knight, bobsled player Aja Evans and para ice sled hockey player Rico Roman from the American Olympic and Paralympic teams. Brown told People Magazine as he modeled one of the outfits, “Ralph Lauren is synonymous with the Olympics and also synonymous with America.”

The Chief Branding and Innovation Officer of Ralph Lauren, David Lauren, said “Ralph Lauren is incredibly proud to outfit Team USA in apparel that has been designed with integrity and purpose. For these Games, the design aesthetic of our uniform represents a modern look that feels distinctly new and fresh, created with sustainability in mind.”

According to CNN, Team Canada’s outfits are more technologically advanced; the uniforms are insulated, sweat-wicking, bacteria-inhibiting, breathable, water and wind resistant and light on seams. The Canadian athletes will sport parkas, down jackets, joggers, trapper caps, bucket hats and zip ups, many of which are easy to alter and adjust to different lengths and purposes.

Canadian para-alpine skier, Frédérique Turgeon, said “It’s truly so unique, and I think the world is going to be jealous of what we have.”

These outfits are the first package of the collaboration between the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and Canadian athleisure company Lululemon. This partnership will extend to the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics in Los Angeles as well.

CEO of the Canadian Olympic Committee, David Shoemaker, said “This mesmerizing athlete kit — that you can see from the joy in the athletes — is exactly what we wanted and it will mark a new chapter for the Canadian Olympic Committee.”
